A New Hope

Just Be Glad I Didn't Send this in all my Emails

I had my first baptism. Every part of it was awesome!  Unfortunately was unable to get a picture with the girl that was baptized... Because she had so many friends and family supporting her and cramming up the church hallways, but pictures don't matter when it comes to Eternal Salvation.

Man the progress we have made so far is astounding. We still have 4 people on date for baptism. A few of them have been moved back but they are still on track.  Let's not forget to mention that soon we will have even more people on date for baptism! We are teaching so many people, and they all have the potential to be baptized this year!

Unfortunately, one person we have been visiting (he once was a member, had his name removed) we have had very good visits with him in the past.  I guess after that last visit we had with him he gave up and decided never again to talk to us. He didn't do it in a nice way, he had copied and pasted some paragraphs from the church website and inserted some anti and claimed that what we taught was wrong.  Of course he added in the very same link to the same page he copied off of and it was plain to see that what he had sent us was not the actually legitimate.  It was kind of a poor excuse to no longer talk to us if you ask me, he didn't even cover his tracks.

Other than that we have been having some serious issues with some of people we are trying to get to church, not that there is anything wrong with them, they are nice people. It is just every time they are about to go to church, something serious happens and they can't make it. This goes to show how important it is to make it to church. The Adversary is real and he knows that when we follow God's plan; keep his commandments, read the scriptures and do our best to make it to church every Sunday he will have little to no power over us. We will continue to help and teach the people who are still struggling, and with the help of Heavenly Father, we will eventually get them baptized.

I bet you noticed the title of today's email, after visiting a less active member I have found that there was a new STAR Wars announced, that's right even as a missionary I can still sniff what's happening out in the world.
An Accident

Welp! We Got Em.

We have been working non stop, I mean we are missionaries and we have been seeing the results of our work. Many of which are baptism dates. We got another one.

It's an (I pie)

She is one of the most golden people we have found. She wanted to be re-baptized. She was baptized when she was a baby, and she felt that it did not mean much, because it wasn't a conscious choice of hers. She also felt that God would see her differently if she went to another faith. We assured her that the only difference she would see would be more and more of God's love in her life.  Once we said that she was like, sign me up now! And now she will be baptized the 27th of April.

Next week we have a baptism scheduled, and so far it looks like all the pieces will fall into place. She is definitely ready for baptism. I am so excited. This is the first baptism that we scheduled that is actually going through.

General Conference happened!  And it was awesome! All the talks had good messages, and most of them went together well.  In order to watch General Conference at a members home we need to bring less active or non-member.

The first session we were unable to schedules a time with anybody so we watched it at our stake center. Nobody tested the broadcast when they set it up the the stake center.  We found out that the audio and video were 15 seconds apart from each other and it was too late to fix it, it was LIVE.

Inspiring Message
Second session was scheduled at a less active members house, they were not very enthusiastic about us watching it with them (I think they wanted to do there own thing that day) but they recently moved in so they enjoyed our company. They don't know much people in the ward yet.

On our way to priesthood session, Elder Judd's bike pedal fell off halfway to our destination. This was after we had a new one put on because his last one broke.

Priesthood session was at our ward mission leader's house. His nonmember son was there. Usually he gets all anti on us, but this time he was quiet and pretended not to listen, but his mother knew he was paying close attention.

Third session we were invited by the 4th ward sisters to a members home, and one of the people we were supposed to be teaching was there. The 4th ward sisters found her and did not tell us they were teaching her even though she lives in 5th ward.  This lady that the sisters found is now on date for baptism. We have scheduled every Saturday at 6:00 to meet with her at the 4th ward members home. They are even feeding us dinner. Teaching this lady couldn't get any better.

Fourth session was at the stake center again, we had a place scheduled but the person we were teaching could not make it to the member's home, it was not as bad as the first session, the video and audio were working.

I loved all the talks, my favorite talk I would have to say was the talk from Elder Gong.  He spoke about how the Lord is our shepherd. He knows how to guide us and He cares for us.

As a missionary I am appointed as a shepherd to guide his flock, he works through us to bring about his work.  As long as we are obedient we will be lead by The Spirit and we may not even know it.

Our Service Was Cut Short

Thanks for all the love and support,

And So It Came to Pass

Transfers happened last Thursday we have lost Elder Fulmer and the Elder who has he placed him is Elder Sadler.  Since transfers we have been getting a little congested, and Elder Judds morning voice makes him sound like James Earl Jones on a bad day, so I think the Elder Sadler may have brought Las Plagas. (I would not be surprised if my resident malign joke went over some heads.)

This week we met a survivor of cancer. This guy has had 8 different surgeries 8n the past year, 3 of witch were botched surgeries.  He knows lots about good properties of the church. He just has them confused with lots of religion conspiracy.  So after talking to him for an hour and a half about the government and about reincarnation, we gave him a Book of Mormon and challenged him to read and pray about it.  He said he would give a try. Fingers crossed for reading with real intent.

We have lots of people we are trying to get to church, and most of them are not able to make it at the last second, because of emergencies in their families. The adversary is working hard on those trying to go to church. One family's mother was admitted to the hospital, because her blood pressure went crazy. Another family's father had a heart attack. Another family's son, whom of which has bipolar symptoms, was also was admitted to the hospital, because his mental condition got worse.  And of course one of the people we are teaching whom of which works at the hospital, could not make it, because the hospital is so full.  We will try harder this week to get them to make it to church

This sisters just played an April fools joke on us. We left our car unlocked and went into the apartment real quick to get some food for our hike today. While we were inside, the sisters took my companions phone and another one of the Elders' phones. They they made it look like somebody ran off quick and left a trail of disturbed dirt.  Once we came out, we thought they were either taken and hid by one of the Elders or they were stolen.  So we were panicking and decided to call the sisters to see if they saw what happened. They didn't answer, so we went over to their apartment. Once the sisters opened the door, they couldn't keep a straight face. They were busted.  What a great way to start April fools. Now we have to think of some funny way to get back at them.

Welp, I have to go now. We are going in a hike soon, so I gotta share a nice thought about Tithing.

Tithing is not at all about the Lord needing our money. H is the Lord. He doesn't need cash, but he does need our obedience, or more simply put, " We give what we value to the Lord, whom of which we should value more."
